Congratulations to the latest PhD graduates from our group – Viktorija and Toms!
Viktorija defended her thesis on “Simplified Analogs of Diazonamide A as Anticancer Agents”.
Toms defended the thesis on “Studies on Total Synthesis of Diazonamide A and its Structural Analogs”.

Both doctoral theses were defended at University of Latvia and supervised by prof., Dr. Chem. Edgars Suna.

Students from our group have participated in Balticum Organicum Syntheticum on 7-10th of July in Riga.
Arturs won the awards for the best Latvian poster presentation. Congrats!

The research described in the paper “Imitation of β-lactam binding enables broad-spectrum metallo-β-lactamase inhibitors” by Dmitrijs, Martins, Marina, Edgars and collaborators from Chemistry Research Laboratory and the Ineos Oxford Institute for Antimicrobial Research (University of Oxford, UK) has been named by the Latvian Academy of Sciences as one of the 12 major achievements in Latvian science this year. Congratulations!
