Students from our group have participated in 12th Paul Walden Symposium on organic chemistry on 28-29th of October. Symposium was hosted by the Latvian Institute of Organic Synthesis and Riga Technical University.
Our group members Glebs, Arturs, Sabine, Arturs Raimonds, Viktorija, Katrina and Kaspars were presenting their research during the poster session. Viktorija and Glebs won the awards for the best posters for PhD students. Congrats!
The head of our laboratory Edgars Sūna, has been awarded the Order of the Three Stars (3rd class).
This prestigious award is received by people who have demonstrated excellence in serving Latvian state and nation, contributing to the growth of our country with their selfless professional and social work as well as civic achievements.
Edgars’ scientific achievements promote Latvia’s integration into the European and global research community, while his academic work fosters the young generation of scientists.

The research described in the paper “Cation–π interactions secure aggregation induced emission of planar organic luminophores” published by Edgars, Kaspars and Artis is among Latvian the most significant achievements in science. 11th Paul Walden Symposium on organic chemistry was held in Riga on 19-20th of September. Symposium was hosted by the Latvian Institute of Organic Synthesis and Riga Technical University.
Our group members Toms, Viktorija, Haralds and Krista also have participated in the Symposium presenting their research during the poster session. Viktorija won a poster prize for her poster on synthesis of analogues of Diazonamide A. Congrats!
